much better today yesterday.
the big dumpster arrived.
yay.
for all the trash!
much cleaner
Can’t wait to start putting things
back together

if your house looked like this:
{what use to be the kitchen}
{more}
{and more}
{master bathroom}
{main bathroom}
I haven’t cried
just.yet.
Brett might tell a different story
There is no turning back now.
Brett and I are officially
‘that couple’
yard work on our days off.
Actually,
we are truly blessed to have the friends
we do.
We could not have done what we did
yesterday
without them.
When you can’t work on the inside
work on the out side.
tree #1
timber!!
seriously.
we.are.blessed.
I went to get lunch
and came back to this.
{really needed a before picture}
the supervisor for the day
made herself right at home
under the fig tree.
We.are.blessed.
We did it!
As of 5:00p.m. on
Friday, May 25th
Brett and I are
HOMEOWNERS!
we got the keys!
Saturday, demo day 1
{demo is on hold till the dumpster comes}
but we I had to demolish
SOMETHING!
{just the beginning}
it’s a start.
More demo to come!
here’s the
Journey
of our first home.
Today
we signed escrow papers!
{not sure what that means}
but one step closer
to a
KEY!
We received a last minute call
to try to sign the paper todays!
We were on our way!
about 45 minutes later.
done.and.done.
Bentley
acts like she’s so unexcited
but she has no idea
what is about to be hers!
{in case you forgot what she looks like}
well if you didn’t know already
yes, BD & I are buying our
first house.
to make a home.
the pictures you see now
are {hopefully} not what you’ll
see in a few months.
We have not ‘closed’ on the
house… yet
but {hopefully} by the end of May.
I really hope that once the
transformations
start happening.
I’ll be blogging about them.
we have a lot of work ahead of us.
a little background story:
LA did not want a ‘fixer upper’
BD did.
BD won.
better give me all I want
just.kidding.
for you viewing
pleasure
I can’t wait to start
before:
After:
here’s to a fun Summer!
Marathon weekend
ended up being a
marathon
in it’s self.
We were lucky to
convince my mom to come visit
for the
BIG weekend.
I assumed
marathon.weekend
was going to be relaxing & restful.
{boy! I was wrong}
Friday we spent the day in Burbank
for a taping of
the tonight show with Jay Leno
{no pictures}
Saturday ended up being packed as well
we had a friend invite us to the
clippers {playoff} game.
suite seats.
garage parking.
free food.
yes please!
clippers ended up
.winning.
after an early night
insert marathon morning
in here.
5 hours after running across the
start.
we sat at Mutt’s
cold beer in hand
friends by our side.
followed by naps.
marathon weekend ended with
a.sprinkles.cupcake.
{or two}
*Warning extremely long*
First and foremost
Happy Mother’s Day
to all the mom’s out there!
Especially,
my mom and my mother-in-law!
We are so blessed to have you
both
in our lives.
exactly 7 days ago
Brett & I ran
26.2 miles
{plus bobbing and weaving}
a week later it seems like
a lifetime ago.
I was very nervous
the whole week before.
luckily I had fun things to keep me
entertained.
{more about those later}
everything laid out
in bed by 8:30p.m.
wake up call alarm was set for
3:28a.m.
the alarm went off and my heart
was bounding out of my
chest!
I choked down pb toast.
and we we’re off to the start!
honestly at this point
I was f.r.e.a.k.i.n.g out
but I kept my cool.
I we was going to do it!
26.2 miles
it’s way too early to run
when it’s dark out!
ready or not
about 20 minutes later
we were off.
fast forward
7.5 miles
only 18.7 miles to go…
fast forward
4 hours & 13 minutes
{for brett}
4 hours & 16 minutes
{for me}
and that is when we crossed
the finish line.
one of the best things about the whole thing
was running along side my best friend.
while we didn’t cross the finish line together.
we ran 25 miles together.
and I wouldn’t change the for the world.
another amazing thing:
having my mom
and the brinks
at the finish.
I still have so many
thoughts.
feelings.
and
emotions.
about the marathon.
{I hope to share at sometime!}
but for now
the hubster & I
joined
the.marathon.club.

Brett & I did something
I never thought or said
I would do.
We ran a marathon.
26.2 miles
While we ran a marathon
we endured ‘that pain’
but it doesn’t come close
to the pain
we’ve seen over the past few days.
While we ran & finished
and I want to share more.
I ask for prayers
for our friends.
who have endured
a pain I hope I never
have to experience.
please pray for
peace
comfort
and
love.
My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:8
