Happy Halloween!

it’s hard to believe it’s already

Halloween!

Not only is it Halloween,

but Bentley has officially been with us for

THREE YEARS!

-Crazy-

I remember when BD & I took

personal days

to drive to IOWA to get her!

::time has flown::

I present to you:

Bentley the {black} nosed Reindeer!

{I am allowed to dress B up since we do not have kids yet}

halloween

{reindeer seemed like the perfect Halloween costume

double dipping into Christmas!}

Happy Halloween!

::Pumpkins, Seeds, & Sins::

{warning love-dovey post towards the bottom}

My husband simply amazes me!

I’ll get back to that in a minute.

This week I had a real taste of Fall.

Pumpkins!

IMG_1561

{please not the glass of wine, which is a must when working with pumpkins}

IMG_1562

{my helper}

I got to carve cut open pumpkins,

clean the insides,

IMG_1563

and

IMG_1565

make seeds!

IMG_1566

{regular, chex mix, & cinnamon and sugar!}

You must be wondering why I cleaned pumpkins

not carved them.

and wondering why he simply amazes me.

Well, the hubbers was giving Chapel this week

and needed pumpkins.

IMG_1568

He did a great job!

{nothing hotter than a man of Faith}

talking to 550 high schoolers

relating to them

using pumpkins

explaining

sin.

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23

This weekend is a bye weekend for FB.

But we’ll still be happily busy.

::We’re Alive::

I’m sure you, all mom,

{the only one who probably reads this}

thought we were gone,

but we’re alive.

I Survived Vegas

BD survived a weekend alone.

and almost another full week.

as the old saying goes…

what happens in Vegas

stays in Vegas

comes up on the blog.

{bits & pieces}

As you may recall

we went to Vegas for my mom’s

SIXTHY BIRTHDAY!

Race Photos {I can’t believe…}

I’m going to post these.

One thing I’ve learned through

‘my running years’

is it’s important to keep one eye opened at all times

during a race.

camera men are EVERYwhere.

this race was no different.

.picture.fail.

the hubs & I had a good laugh.

thought I would share a few.

half3

BD loved the garmin

{almost every picture he’s making sure we’re on pace}

love that man.

half2

{3} Three Things!

The day after, after the half marathon.

still the same.

ready to run.

Three important things happened in the past two days.

1.  After the running on Sunday, I convinced BD to eat at

the Sugar Shack!

photo(31)

{so, I realize no one probably know what that is}

{come and visit maybe we’ll take you!}

this was actually our first time to eat there.

I had heard amazing things.

They lived up to that.

2. We had to get a new battery for the

Nissan.

{woot.woot}

having a handy husband

{is sexy}

my job of the evening.

photo(33)

paying.

{thank goodness for me Smile}

3. Bentley would be very embarrassed by this,

but she’ll never see it.

She has a sore on her back

she likes to lick.

it’s gross.

so what do you do

when you don’t want your dog

to have the cone of shame.

photo(34)

you create a onesie

that covers her sore.

odds on if it will still be one when I get home?!

I say over 50%,

BD says less.

Let’s see who wins!

That’s how long it took

BD & I to run 13.1 miles.

let me back up.

Yesterday we ran up to Long Beach to get our

swag bags & bib numbers.

IMG_1548

we came home and ‘carb loaded’

We had a wake up call at 4:30a.m.

{our cell phone alarms}

I was out when they went off.

that’s probably at first

I typically toss & turn,

see the clock every hour.

Last night I tried not to getting anxious.

I set everything out that we would need

{and more}

IMG_1552

I tried to forget I was running in the morning

with 25,000 other people.

{I’m not a big crowd person}

We hit the road bright-eyed-and-bushy-tailed

around 5am.

IMG_1554

{Here we come Long Beach!}

little did we know it would be a

c.r.a.z.y.

morning.

Everything was going smoothly till we hit the

710

{a major freeway into downtown LB}

We sat & sat & sat… moved a little.

The traffic was HERENDOUS!

I may not or may have been having tummy problems.

so the ride was not comfortable!

We finally found a place to park at 6:45a.m.

Race starts at 7am.

we walked VERY fast to the start line.

it was a MAD house.

{remember me no like crowds}

Well as the first wave went we waited in line for the potty potties.

prefect place for a pre-race picture.

photo(30)

we finally made it to the gate

to head towards the start.

they have fences on both sides

herding 1,000s of people towards the start.

{my least favorite thing}

I finally push our way up to the start.

and we were off.

Only 13.1 miles stood in our way.

the first SIX miles.

we bobbed and weaved like it was our job.

miles flew by.

BD tripped.

the sun was beating down.

one bathroom stop.

{my tummy was not my friend today}

we hit 13 and could see the finish line.

I looked over

saw my best friend & husband

and we both booked it for the finish.

I’ve ran other half marathons before

but this one was by far the most memorable.

not because the course.

but because of who crossed the finish line with me

hand.in.hand.

photo(29)

thanks for pushing me and believing in me.

::One week::

So it’s been one OVER a week since

I last blogged

{blogger fail}

I even missed the first day of

October!

Happy October!

The past week was filled

with this {homework}, that {work}.

and football win.

{not for the donkey’s though. ugh}

One week from today

the hubs will be a half-marathoner!

woot.woot.

we’ll be running the

Long Beach Half Marathon.

it’s been almost a year since

my last one.

I’m really excited for this one.

to run with the one I love.

I’m so proud of him.

He’s super ridiculously busy,

but is always ready to run with me

right.when.he.walks.through.the.door.

Now that it’s been over a week.

I promise semi-promise to

have a more exciting life this next week.

It’s homecoming week!
