it’s hard to believe summer is almost over.
I’m clinging to the fact I have one more
‘must do’ before summer is over
but school does start tomorrow
{but it will be done soon}
On the other hand I’m ready for

sweatshirt weather
{doesn’t exist like it does in the midwest}
leaves changing colors
and another school year.
Fall possibly is by favorite season.

oh I just love fall.

Our lives lately have been crazy blessed.
school for BD starts next week.
he’s been in full swing with
2-a-days.
meetings.
accreditations.
homework.
training.
just a short update on us.
that we are in fact
still in place
and alive.
tequila and all.
This past week it was
one of my good friend’s birthday!
So like in any good fashion.
we celebrated!
I wanted to make something new.

they turned out pretty well.
I took a few different recipes
and made one!

I hate dislike this time of the year.
I use to love it.
but now I’m starting another
not teaching.
I am very blessed to have the job I do
but my heart longs
for the day
I can create my classroom again.
{sometimes I wonder if that will ever happen}
I just miss the hustle and bustle
meeting my new students.
most all being creative.
I don’t want to be a debbie downer.
but the longer I’m out of the classroom.
it’s almost harder to imagine
if or when I will ever be a teacher again.
While I’m still learning
and at times seeing why God has called
me to do what I am doing.
it’s still one of the hardest things for me.
But yes, I do know
While I sit here and complain.
I pray that all my teacher friends
have a wonderful year and
that you touch the hearts of your students.
way back in December
for Christmas I surprised BD with
a fishing trip!
he LOVES fishing.
We finally cashed in on our adventure.
The morning started SUPER early
{4:30a.m. although I had been up since 3:30a.m. too excited to sleep}
so the ‘bucks’ was a must.
{please excuse the ghost white feature…darn flash}
and we were off.
{I love doing life with that man}
after checking in we were ready.
{I look like I’m ready for snow… I may or may not have taken gloves}
but the weather was perfect.
Reel Fun :: our home for the next 6 hours.

and we were on our way to the open sea.
minor fail.
I didn’t take any ‘in action’ pictures.
my hands were fishy and smelly.
we ended up catching a number of fish
but only 3 were big enough to keep.
the bass I caught {and got to keep}!
{the first fish I caught I was so excited & asked the guy if I could take a picture after the picture much to my surprise the guy threw my fish back into the ocean... that’s when I learned they had to be a certain size}
our day of fish didn’t end there.

I always seem to be one or more days
behind on the blog.
I never want to stay up after
something fun happens.
Especially Friday night.
We were out rocking and about Irvine
Friday Night.
our date outing started with
a little run.
I have really been waiting to
cash in on a coupon deal on
cereal.
{the cupboard was about dry}

I talked the hubs into dinner at
{a burger joint near us}
Fifty-Fifty Fries
parmesan & sweet potato.
before I knew it I was done with
my burger.
which I told BD I wanted to take a picture.
oops!
{this was when I remembered}
After dinner I drug we hit up
Ralphs & Vons.
{grocery stores for any non-southern Californians}
hubby wanted to go.
I had coupons burning holes in my pockets.
I haven’t had a great coupon trip in a while.
Friday Night seemed like the perfect night.
And I filled the cupboard with hubz favorite.

Man it fells good to be back in action.
I wanted to celebrate with yogurtland,
but someone did not want fro-yo.
{I told him I would let everyone know that!}
now time for a nap
after a day at sea fishing!
this week has flown by!
{good & bad}
always good to get to the weekend,
but the weekend will fly by.
but such is life.

there are 2 ways to dry
a 12.5 lb chorkie.
number one:
the towel dry.
or number two:
the tumble dry.
{do not worry we did not try #2}
just a thought.

It’s hard to believe it’s
AUGUST.
the hubby and I took a last minute trip
to the desert
{palm springs}
Work as has been slightly stressful.
we I needed to get out of town.
and graciously the hubs agreed.
{boy do I love that man}
and we were off for a night in the desert!
of course right when we got there.
POOL TIME!

After pool time we decided to see what
palm springs
had to offer…

a majority of the time the hubs and I go somewhere
he forgets his sunglasses.
our honeymoon. trips to vegas. etc.
{this trip was no different}
although we both ended up with
new shades.
{I can’t complain}
after walking around
it was time for pool
before naps and getting read for dinner.

I don’t know what it is
but we love photo shoots.
in philly we decided to have one.
palm springs was no different.
{but I’ll post the pictures}
the next morning we spent a few hours at the
pool..
before heading back.
getting away was just what
we needed.
luckily we still have a few fun things planned
before summer is officially over.
