{Free} Friday Date Night ::

I had big ambition to blog about this

on Saturday

fail.

Friday night was

date night.

free{ish} date night.

stop number one:

was not free.

We’re giving up our Costco membership this month

because all we ever buy is

salsa!

Off to {free} date night.

We heart gift cards.

Dinner and Movie.

not a dime spent. eekk.

I had a return to make

before getting dinner.

Whenever we return something

we call it a business trip.

we’ll be making the money money!

Dinner at CPK.

Our next stop might not have been free.

{totally could have}

but epic fail left the gift card at home.

what’s date night without froyo?!

finally, 2 free movie tickets

gets you into the movies

iphone gets you

free popcorn.

{you don’t have to eat because you spent $5 on it}

Friday {freeish} date night.

I’m ready for the weekend!

County Fair?!?

Well the hubs and I ventured out to the

Orange County Fair.

We went the year we moved here.

{blog fail not blogging about it}

skipped last year.

went this year.

take children’s books.

get.in.free.

the OC fair is nothing like this:

standing on the ground of the grand stand

almost touching Phil Vassar!

But we decided to venture out.

and had fun.

BD got the calf to suck his fingers.

{everyone thought he was CrAzY}

I got lost in the “corn”

{not Nebraskan corn}

we walked and walked

but the best part of all…

One day I will own pigs.

It gets even better!

I was chosen to be the

gate opener!

I was the best darn gate opener!

Sadly, since I was the gate opener

I didn’t get any pictures of the pigs!

The hubs did get a race on video.

{look out for that to be coming to a theater soon!}

Although it’s not the

county fair

we’re use to…

I did walk away with an official Ribbon!

Can’t wait to hit up the Logan county

{someday, someday}

:: Vegas twenty-eleven ::

Last year we had a

last hoorah to Las Vegas

while {hopefully} this isn’t our

last hoorah of the Summer

it was the annual

vegas get-a-way with

awesome friends!

{awesome is an understatement}

As always it was a memorable trip.

It started out a little like this:

{hello the 91}

luckily we weren’t too far along yet.

so we turned around.

picked up another car

{thanks Chris!!}

After switching cars and a quick

oil change

it was off to Vegas.

{take 2}

We arrived at our home way from home.

to do “us” for the weekend.

a night of shopping and walking

followed by a morning by the pool

led to

LION KING.

It.was.perfect.

{our hubbies planned it all}

After it was more time to do “us”

the boys do “them”

we do “us”

We are so blessed by

these two.

their friendship.

their faith.

their love for life.

have blessed us.

last night was a little Saturday night

I loved.

nothing special just

me & my boy…

oh and

the fun zone

and

sprinkles cupcakes!!!

hubby had a basketball game

but after that

he was all mine.

We hit up the balboa fairy.

then the fun zone….

{which I’ve been dying to go}

because I’m the bomb at

skeeball!

and let him hold the tickets

WINNER!

bracelet, suckers, and a lemonhead!

the next stop:

$9.69 of heaven….

{price includes a doggie cupcake }

one peanut butter chocolate

one coconut

and

one doggie

the perfect ending to

a perfect night.

I’m not too sure what is up with me

{lately}

but I am loving the grill.

and experimenting.

I almost feel like this has turned into

recipes with LA

but lately our life has been

consumed by

football & basketball.

{No one wants to read about that}

and this blog is  like therapy fun!

Last night again

I turned down my old friend

for, yes, once again my new friend

The food with a Twist

.Spaghetti with Garlic Bread.

my favorite part about

making spaghetti, you HAVE to have

garlic bread with it!

Let me introduce you to

a mixture of both worlds.

garlic bread on top.

spaghetti on bottom.

Delicious!

{recipe in picture}

Start with:

hollow out:

{extra pieces will be croutons! one day}

make spaghetti as normal

yes, you need the stove, but not the oven!

On the top piece of the bread

make garlic bread.

fill with spaghetti

top with cheese.

top & close

put on the grill to

melt & crisp

{smaller bag is roasted broccoli}

after some time take it off and

enjoy!

or you can enjoy with extra sauce!

It was pretty fun

you could eat it like a sandwich

or

you can take the top off.

this weekend is full of basketball games.

and maybe some baking….
