We’ve had a few hiccups on this trip.

Yesterday, we found out our

boat cruise we were going to take was:

CANCALLED.

{Bummer dude}

This morning our ride forgot us!

{oops}

and now

due to storms in Philly

a lovely layover in Denver.

{Being so close to home where I grew up…

is tempting to stay here}

BUT…

We’re still off to Philly!

This hottie has been “working”

he loves free wi-fi

Off {hopefully} to the city of

Brotherly Love.

{Spring Break}

We’re headed to…

Philly

in the morning!

So much history.

We will have little time.

but a lot to do.

I found this really neat recipe the other day.

I will have to wait till later to try!

An object lesson

{I love object lessons…

hence why I taught elementary}

on Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection.

“Empty Tomb”

Large Marshmallows:  Body of Jesus

Melted Butter: Oils of embalming

Cinnamon & Sugar Mix:  Spices used to anoint the body

Crescent Roll: The wrapping of Jesus’ body

Oven: The tomb

Cavity in the bun: Empty tomb

Empty Tomb

1 (8 ounce) package refrigerated crescent rolls

1/4 cup sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

8 large marshmallows

1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

Separate rolls into eight triangles. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Dip each marshmallow into butter, roll in cinnamon-sugar and place on a triangle. Pinch dough around marshmallow, sealing all edges. Dip tops of dough into remaining butter and cinnamon-sugar. Place with sugar side up in greased muffin cups. Bake at 375 degrees F for 13 to 15 minutes. Serve warm.

{Holy Week}

This is a few days late

but totally worth sharing!

Sunday was Palm Sunday.

One {of many} favorite Sundays

As a little girl

receiving a palm branch at church was

awesome!

What was cooler was when I was

able to fold it into a cross

All. By. Myself.

This year something new hit me.

A donkey.

Our King road into Jerusalem

on a donkey?!

But if you look close

a donkey is not just a donkey.

 

A donkey wears a cross.

A symbol of where

our King was headed.

to the cross.

to save us.

to bare our sins.

so that we would be forgiven.

Legend of the Donkey's Cross

" Bring me the colt of a donkey,"
was the Master's request.

A young donkey was brought to Jesus
to carry Him into Jerusalem.

A week later Jesus was ordered
to be crucified.

The little donkey so loved the Lord
that he wanted to help Him carry the cross.

But, alas, he was pushed away.

The sad little donkey waited to say
goodbye until nearly all had left.

As he turned to leave, the shadow of
the cross fell upon the
back and shoulders of
the little donkey.

And there it has remained,
a tribute to the loyalty
and love of the humblest of
Gods creatures.

Weekend {in} Review

I had BIG intentions of

blogging Friday night

about our exciting afternoon,

but when the hubs

fell asleep at

8:34 p.m.

I decided to call it a night, too.

L.O.S.E.R.S.

First my afternoon started out

with this bad boy…

After school we picked up the bop

and headed to the

BEACH!

The weather was GEORGOUS!

Bop even decided to take a dive

We had one dirty chorkie

on our hands.

to be able to enjoy the beach

want.

Saturday=lazy

and dinner out.

Sunday=homework

and cleaning the

700 sqft.
